Indiana University Bloomington is a comprehensive research
university, attracting top faculty and scholars from around the world and
offering personalized learning experiences, including Intensive Freshman
Seminars, Freshman Interest Groups, overseas study, the Hutton Honors
College, and many other academic programs.
Our emphasis on the freshman learning experience was recognized by
TIME magazine when it named IU "College of the Year" among research
universities in 2001, while our blend of tradition and technology was
extolled by the Newsweek-Kaplan College Guide when it named IU its
"Hottest Big State School" in 2005.

"IU offers students a wide range of activities that cater to all types
of student interests. My brother is in the Jacobs School of Music, and he
has encouraged me to attend student concerts and recitals. Because of the
Hutton Honors College, I
became involved with Bloomington Parks and Recreation as a children's
basketball coach and sports instructor. These
opportunities enable students to experience things they are passionate
about while also developing valuable skills."
