students, staff, and faculty adjust to academic and social life on campus.
Services and Centers Services and CentersOffice of International Services: The office assists international students and scholars with visa-related issues, work permits, financial aid, health insurance, tax, travel, and more. Leo R. Dowling International Center: The center hosts a range of cultural and educational activities, and is a popular meeting place for international friends and families to socialize. International Student Groups: Contact information for the more than 60 international student groups at IU Bloomington. Alumni Association International Alumni: A member directory, events, and international clubs allow alumni to stay in touch and build professional relationships. Asian Culture Center: The center provides student resources, educational support, and community outreach to promote awareness and understanding of Asian cultures. Bloomington Worldwide Friendship: A community-based volunteer organization that provides support services for international students and opportunities to get to know American families. International Short-Term Visitors: Visa and payment information for faculty members and departments that wish to host international guests and scholars. Latino Cultural Center (La Casa): La Casa offers community, academic, and service programs to promote awareness and understanding of Latino/Latina culture. Neal-Marshall Black Culture Center: The center offers educational, cultural, and social programs that promote awareness about the black experience. School of Education Goodwill Ambassadors: Students who can answer questions about the School of Education and its academic programs. English Language ResourcesIntensive English Program: Classes to increase the language skills of non-native speakers to the level required for study at a college or university in the United States. Test of English Proficiency for International Associate Instructor Candidates (TEPAIC): Information about the test required for all students and faculty members with instructional responsibilities at IU Bloomington. Careers in the U.S. and AbroadCareer Development Center: The center provides information about job opportunities for international students and global job opportunities for both international students and U.S. citizens. School of Education Visiting Scholars: Information for international faculty interested in finding an academic position within the School of Education. Student Employment Office: This office assists students in locating part-time, summer, and temporary jobs both on and off campus. |
